2 Shows in November

|

Check it out dog.  First show we’re doing in November is to help good friend Eva Soul start up her night @ PULSE DETROIT off Monroe downtown.  The show is on Monday, November 9 (we know Monday’s are tough to get out) but it is free and the vibe is real fly up in there.  A.M. will be doing a nice set and hope to do a little bit of networking also.  The night is free before 10PM.  PULSE DETROIT is located @ 156 Monroe St Detroit, MI 48226.  We will be going on around 11:30.

THANKSGIVING EVE HOMECOMING SHOW @ CAMP TI 11/25

I know what you’re thinking.  “Charlie, why the fuck are you gonna put on a show at your place of work?”  Well, the answer is “Why not?”  Camp Ti is mostly known for its’ rustic atmosphere and wild game food, but they wanted to try something new this year;  enter A.M.

Your boys are bringing in the biggest drinking night of the year to the crib and performing for the FIRST TIME EVER in our hometown of Troy, MI.  You know we had to bring out our favorite DJ, Uncle Paulie, to hold down the best sounds all night.  The show is FREE and music will start around 9PM.  We’ll be going on sometime around 11 if I had to guess.  21+

If you’re coming home to spend Thanksgiving with the parents and are afraid of the po-po pulling you the fuck over like they love to do, going to a local watering hole is your best bet.  This is more or less like a homecoming to the people who haven’t seen us perform recently, or at all from around the way and would like a close/cheap way to check us out.  We’d love to see some faces who have only heard of us and our music, but have never had an A.M. experience.  Pass it on…

Fun fact:  Tony has worked for Camp Ti twice, and at one time was banned from the place (as was I) so this might be his official welcoming back;  although you can catch him posted at the bar from time to time.

CAMP TICONDEROGA is located at 5725 Rochester Rd. Troy, MI

We should have pre-ordering capabilities for Living A Nightmare, Chasing The Dream available at AM.com in the next week or so.  We’re going to give away a ton of free shit with pre-orders, so it’d be your best bang for buck for A.M. swag.

Don’t forget to Facebook us.  We still have a myspace, but does anybody use that shit anymore anyways?

Benefit For HEX MURDA

|

The show last night to benefit HEX MURDA was incredible last night and one of the best shows of the year. He suffered a stroke about a month or so ago, and the night was a fundraiser to help pay for his medical bills. It was great to see a PACKED St. Andrew’s Hall in support of a guy who has a huge impact on Michigan and underground hip hop generally speaking. You can peep his column @ www.allhiphop.com where he talks about various topic matters in typical HEX fashion. Here’s who performed…all for $10. WOW.

Slum Village, Paradime, Phat Kat, Fat Killaz, Guilty Simpson, Black Milk, & MANY MORE.

Great show for Detroit hip hop. Period. Holler.

Thanks people

|

Thanks to everyone who came out to the show Thursday night. We made a great impression on The Crofoot and the crowd alike. Thanks to everyone who supports us in any way. Pre-orders for “Living a Nightmare, Chasing the Dream” will be up in the next few weeks. Holler @ us and thanks again!

A.M. in Real Detroit

|

Check us out in the 4 Play of REAL DETROIT the Oct. 7 edition with Where The Wild Things Are on the cover.  Here’s the article:

In the music industry, if you’re part of a group, the most important thing has to be longevity and chemistry. So when you’ve been boys with your rhyming partner since elementary school and have known each other over 18 years, that can be the best formula to a group’s success. Abrasive Method (Charlie Beans and Tony Franks) became passionate and addicted to making hip-hop in 2000, then released their first album 4 A.M in 2004. They followed up in 2006 with Most Dangerous Game, also putting out last year’s free-online album Lucky #13. “In the long run, if you’re patient with a project or a song and you put your entire heart into it, you hear it in the music,” Tony Franks tells us.

Franks and Beans have been working on November’s release of Living a Nightmare, Chasing the Dream, the duo’s best work to date, that relates to anyone who is trying to achieve their goals. Beans explains, “We want to grow as artists, continue to try new things and be the best people we can be.” They’re making waves with the Apollo Brown produced video/single “Rescue,” a track based around the premise of not waiting around and complaining about what you don’t have. See AM rock with Rakim Thursday, October 7, at The Crofoot. More info: www.abrasivemethod.com.  | RDW

There’s also an article about Hex Murda and a show @ St. Andrew’s Hall on Oct. 17th to help his medical condition.  Also, an article on Paradime and his recent brush with death…again.  Thanks to Origix for hooking up the article.  Yes, we know the picture is only of me, and we planned it that way.  Just kidding, the photo got cropped and damnit to all hell I wish it was him not me.

RAKIM IS TOMORROW.  Thanks to everyone who has helped us sell tickets considering we’ve almost sold out!  We appreciate all the support that you’re giving us, and are excited about tomorrow.  It’d be nice if we didn’t both have to work day of, but that’s what we do best.  Once again, the show is @ the Crofoot Ballroom in downtown Pontiac.  Doors are @ 8PM, and we suggest getting there early.  Tix are $18 and slightly higher @ the door.  18+ show.  SEE YOU THERE.
