First off, we’d like to say thank you to everybody who came out to the show Friday show @ the Magic Bag; it was quite a success! There were a lot of familiar faces that we haven’t seen in quite some time, and appreciate everyone coming out to support A.M. and D.Allie, not to mention the other artists Pony Boy, Street Justice, & Chief who played with us. P Dog held down the tables all night playing local and national hip hop without a glitch in his step, and Dante hosted the evening and is a pro in holding down the fort. The sound was great, and the vibe was in abundance.
We ended up selling a shit ton of tee’s and ran out of some sizes, but are going to re-order the shirts very soon. We also got plenty of compliments on the design of the shirts (courtesy of our best bud Skrapz) and hope people continue to rock our flyness. You can get a shirt for $12 by hitting us up @ am.com or abrasivemethod@gmail.com
Street Justice really impressed me with their set, and homey REDD from SJ who hooked it up with a “Street Justice Is Your Fav. Group” tee. It’s been a minute since I’ve seen them rock and was impressed. It actually made me go back to their mixtape Out For Just Us and bump it. You can check them out @ www.myspace.com/streetjustice2
Our set was very energetic and hilarious per usual. We came out to Genesis’ Land Of Confusion and got the party started from there. We played some new material off Living A Nightmare, Chasing The Dream, as well as songs from Lucky # 13, and Most Dangerous Game…I also don’t want to forget Tony’s brilliant rendition of Mr. Roboto which has become a staple in his arsenal of song selections. We’re thinking about covering a couple different tunes for upcoming live shows, but have been jamming to this song for a second or two.
The crowd was with us from the minute we got on stage until we left. If you’ve ever seen us live, we require quite a lot of crowd participation through applause and chuckles from Tony and my witty banter throughout the evening. It appears that the word of the night for us was “bitch” and in Tony’s opinion is the only reason we haven’t blown; because we constantly omit the word from our rhymes as well as live show. Sometimes we’re little kids and hear something funny and just roll with it. When we’re performing, all of our comments and comedy just flow off the tongue without thought which is entertaining in its’ own right.
We ended the show with I Just Wanna Drink My Beer for the millionth time, and had the crowd singing the chorus. We really appreciate everyone doing their best A.M. impression so we don’t have to keep singing the hook. P Dog got his A.M. on also, singing like a little school girl which was greatly appreciated.
D.Allie had a great performance also with his live band which included his father, Gary Strauss on Axe, fellow USM emcee 5-Ill on drums, and Dante doing his best Flava Flav inpersonation. A couple ladies filled out the bass and keys respectively which made for quite a diverse band. Allie ran through some of my personal favorites including Let It Knock, and Bang; plus a new track or two I can’t think of off top.
It was really great to see our guy have his spotlight and really bask in all its’ glory. He had a great performance and it’s always a pleasure putting shows together with the gentleman. D.Allie’s latest album The Cooperative was just recently put up for free download @ www.myspace.com/cooperativeopposites and is also available thru Facebook I believe. A lot of people are FINALLY catching on to what a great record he released, but we’ve been in the loop for quite some time (if you look back, I put this album in my best of 2007 list.) We want to throw a special shout out for getting A.M. involved in this event, and for making this show come to fruition.
Thanks again to everyone who came out to support, bought some gear, and/or were with us in spirit. We hope everybody has a great holiday and doesn’t let this shit economy get them down.
Once again, we’ll be re-pressing our tee’s soon as we’re damn near sold out, but we do still have XL and XXL sizes available for sale @ $12. Hit us up if you’re interested, and we’ll mail one out or hit you fresh out of the trunk.
Keep doing what you do.
