Local shit I've got recently

First off, peace to Midcoast Most, Chief, Kenny P, Big Will, Pony Boy, A7, WHOLE USM, & everybody else who was @ the New Way Friday.  Always good to see my people MCM doing their thing and they killed the show.  I’m starving for some new material.  Eddie Logix of MCM did four beats on Lucky # 13, and two beats on Living A Nightmare.

Speaking of Eddie Logix:

Just got a copy of Illite’s album Creme De La Creme which Logix has two beats on is very impressive.  You might know Illite from Subterraneous Records duo Octane & Illite.  They’ve been making some moves, and Octane is co-owner of Burn Rubber;  a custom shoe/shirt store in Royal Oak.  Anyways, I’m really feeling what I’ve heard so far, and look forward to putting this release in my rotation.

Next up, The Light Project by Quest M.C.O.D.Y.

I swear, Quest is Detroit’s version of Kanye West.  This album is dope, and put together amazing.  The album sounds great, and the message and overall vibe is positive.  Not to mention Quest is one of the best emcees in the D, he really makes the tracks come through visually.  Catch him @ www.questmcody.com or check out his blog site @ www.mylightproject.com

Dial81 Boxcar Portal

Dial81 of many projects including Level Jumpers, Formless Figures, & Cosmic Handshakes just released his latest Boxcar Portal, and I was extremely impressed although I’ve been a fan of his work since LJ’s Simply Complx.  Dial makes obscure music, but it’s not off-center.  The production on this album is creative and dope as hell.  Dial81’s rhymes flow great over his self-produced landscapes, and features include Skrapz, Kadence (Abolitionists), Count Bass D, Misinformants, and a few others.  Head over to Dial’s site @ www.myspace.com/dial81 and check out his video “Dehydration” directed by Horse….it’s fly.

Dante & Deck The Fixtape 2:  Still Broke

To be honest I had spoke to Dante recently and told him I DLed the CD when I hadn’t, and I randomly got a copy of the release thru my man TEXT.  The Fixtape 1 didn’t catch me really except for the song “Work” which also featured The Sponge & AKA.  Mostly because the material wasn’t original music.

The Fixtape 2, however, I’m enjoying much more and appreciate much more original material.  The drops from local and nationwide artists are dope since DT’s been all over the WORLD;  he’s toured Europe twice, and is probably trying to help people in Africa or something.  Catch him at www.havocpro.com  You can find this album online for download.

Just trying to put people up on the plethora of talent in our state.  Check out www.detroitrap.com for other great music courtesy of yours and mine!
